Founder of DIY record label Tree Machine Records, Zach is an advocate of balancing technology and nature for most of his life. Music drives him to find new ways to connect with people across the globe, and technology has paved the way for creative web development across a variety of digital landscapes.
Born and raised in Washington where he developed a passion for all things electronic. After a couple years working as a freelance web developer, Jeff has decided to seek a Computer Science degree. His interest in exploring, photographing, skiing, and kayaking the world led him to Horizon.
Student at the University of Washington Bothell, studying Interactive Media Design. Karl is interested in Computer Human Interaction and finding the balance between health and technology through interactive technologies. Founder of the Vietnamese Student Association at the University of Washington Bothell, exploring and developing Vietnamese culture.

Currently the Vice-President of Outgoing Global Talent at AIESEC Seattle and a University of Washington student, Alina has traveled to over 10 countries. She is passionate about mathematics, design, and connecting people from across the world to raise awareness about global issues.

Spent 5 years at Zillow doing community building, business development, and social media marketing. A travel addict who has visited 30+ countries, and largely been working & living out of a backpack since 2010. Proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon (WA Beta, '02), and graduate of University of Washington (2005).
A graduate of Indiana University's Computer Science program, Jay came to the Pacific Northwest as a mobile developer. As a people person, he finds front end development the most tangible intersection of engineering with real live humans. Jay's other passions include Ultimate Frisbee and improvisational comedy.

Was introduced to Horizon by one of the company’s first customers, a fellow backpacker, during a tour through South America.
Angel investor and startup advisor in Louisville, KY. Board of Advisors for GLI EnterpriseCorp, the VelocityIN accelerator program, and Venture Connectors. Member of a core team that led Efficient Networks from a venture-funded startup into a market-leading position in broadband equipment, an initial public offering, acquisitions of several smaller firms, and subsequent acquisition by Siemens AG. Cum laude graduate, Vanderbilt University. Co-author of three patents.
Long-term traveler on the road since 2008 sharing stories of grassroots tourism initiatives and solo travel through two award-winning sites, A Little Adrift and Grassroots Volunteering.org. Published author of the Volunteer Traveler’s Handbook and 2013 National Geographic Traveler of the Year.
Connector, social architect, and strategic advisor working, living, and breathing all things social: particularly innovation, justice and networking. Colleen has spent the last 8 years immersed in building community, locally and internationally, in the education, social travel, and start-up spaces, most recently managing operations and community for Couchsurfing between 2009 and 2013.
